The Olympic Park's new visual identity, gradually introduced throughout 2013, has earned its designers, lg 2 boutique, a nomination for "Best Identities of 2013" from the prestigious online magazine Brand New. Their creative and innovative work also earned them a nomination for "Best Canadian Design of 2013" from the Canadian Design Resource.
The launch of the new brand image developed for the Olympic Park, based on the theme "Let's rekindle the flame," earned fourth place on the list of Best International Designs of the Year (Brand New), and was among the best of the Canadian designs of the year (Canadian Design Resource).
In explaining their decisions, the editors of both magazines were particularly impressed with lg 2's ability to combine within the graphic design the clean and modern lines inspired by the Olympic rings and the revival of Olympic Park, all the while respecting both the heritage and history of the building and its facilities.
