Registration period :
- Online registration on ActiveNet: March 25, at 12 p.m.
- In person, at the reception desk (remaining places): March 28, at 8 a.m.
This program is designed for adults to increase their knowledge of water safety and learn proper swimming techniques.

Useful informations
Please read this memo carefully to learn about the policies in place.
Locker-room access
- Access to the locker rooms is permitted 20 minutes before and after classes only.
- Only one parent can accompany a child.
- Any parent who wishes to swim during their child’s lesson must pay the entry fee.
- All other parents must sit in the stands or wait in the mezzanine once class has started.
Shoes and boots
- For hygienic and cleanliness reasons, any boots or shoes worn outdoors are not permitted in wet changing rooms or the area around the pool. Parents are encouraged to set a good example by removing their boots and shoes or wearing sandals.
Before class
- If you have a contagious disease, open wound or diarrhea, please do not come to class.
- Take a shower before entering the water and ensure your child has gone to the bathroom.
- Remember to walk calmly around the pool.
- Listen to the monitor’s instructions before entering the water.
During class
- Be sure to wear a suit designed for swimming and avoid Bermuda-style swim shorts, as these are long and can be uncomfortable to wear in the water.
- You’re allowed to wear a rash-guard type swim t-shirt (not cotton) as well as bring your beach towel to the side of the pool to keep warm.
- ALWAYS let the monitor know if you’re leaving the pool, no matter the reason.
- To enter the water, be sure to use the safe method taught to you in class.
- Everyone progresses at their own speed. Be sure not to compare yourself to others.
After class
- Walk calmly around the pool.
- Keep an eye out for children wrapped up in their towels, as they can’t protect themselves in the event of a fall.
Absence
- You will not be able to make up a missed class. However, you are welcome to practice during free swim times (a fee applies).
- The P5 parking is located at 3200 Viau street and is accessible any time the Sports Centre is open.
- Preferential rate of $5 (limit of 4 hours per day)
- Instructions: take a ticket from the machine at the entrance, keep it with you and scan it on the machine inside the Sports Centre.

Beginner
Prices

Description
Swimmer will learn to float on their front and back, glide on their front and back while kicking, enter and exit the shallow end, and perform activities in the shallow end with help.
Préalables
Swimmer must be at least 16 as of first class.

Intermediate
Prices

Description
Swimmer will learn to swim on back with shoulder roll, swim the front and back crawl for 15 metres, dive from sitting position, dive from kneeling position, front stride dive, and tread water. They will be able to swim for at least 25 metres.
Préalables
Swimmer must be at least 16 as of first class. Some swim experience required, and swimmer must be able to swim on their front for 10 metres with ease.

Advanced
Prices

8 lessons of 55 minutes
Description
Swimmer will perfect swim styles, develop physical endurance, and maximize swim performance.
Préalables
Swimmer must be at least 16 as of first class. Swimmer can swim the front crawl at least 15 metres without stopping, and the back crawl 15 metres. They must also feel at ease swimming in the deep end.

Swim Training
Prices
$120, plus tax.
8 lessons of 90 minutes
Description
Guided training between 1,500 and 2,000 metres. Training aims to improve both distance and endurance.
Prerequisite
Must be able to swim 100m freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke non-stop.
