Nordic Landscape is a luminous, ephemeral art installation where art meets nature. Polar bears, emperor penguins and wolves come to life under the lights to reveal the beauty and fragility of their world. This artwork invites you to reflect on the impacts of climate change and to take small actions that can lead to big change. A free experience, open to all, to discover at the Olympic Park.
Nordic Landscape is a creation imagined by M.A.D. Collectif with drawings by Cree artist Jason Carter.
Presentation of the works:
This co-creation shares a message celebrating the beauty and richness of our environment and Indigenous cultures. The struggle for survival of our neighbours from the North and the South is revealed here, encouraging reflection on our responsibility toward these beings, living witnesses to the consequences of climate change. In the Cree Nation, the bear carries a powerful meaning of hope, and its presence in dreams is interpreted as a sign of good things to come. We hope this installation inspires people to take concrete action and proves our benevolent polar bears right.
