Lifesaving training

To become a lifeguard, you need four different types of training. The first is the Bronze Medallion, which will introduce you to first aid and rescue techniques. Once you pass this course, as long as you’re 15 or older, you can work as an assistant lifeguard at a pool. You then have to take a Bronze Cross as well as a General First Aid/DEA course, which is a 16-hour course dedicated to first aid. Then you can take the National Lifeguard course. A great job awaits!

To become an instructor, you need to take the assistant monitor in water safety course, followed by the water-safety monitor course.
