The Société de développement et de mise en valeur du Parc olympique (Olympic Park) is responsible for ensuring the safety of the general public as well as its installations, in particular the Sports Centre. As such, there are some safety instructions that must be followed during your visit. Please take a moment to read Olympic Park’s Rules and Regulations for Safety and Behaviour Standards at the Olympic Park (hereafter called the “Rules”) which apply throughout the duration of your stay at the Sports Centre.

Here’s a partial list of Rules to be respected inside the Sports Centre:

 

• Members must register at the welcome desk.
• All members must wear their member card in the gym as well as the training space in the stands.
• Anyone who does not respect these Safety Instructions, the Rules, or any instructions, directives, or verifications by personnel or lifeguards may be immediately expelled without reimbursement.
• Activities may be cancelled or suspended, or the schedule may be modified, at the sole discretion of Olympic Park—notably due to a competition or event or for equipment maintenance—without compensation, regardless of the reason.
• Members must use locker rooms to change and leave all bags, coats, boots, and personal belongings.
• Members accept full responsibility for their belongings and personal effects.
• It is forbidden to interfere with or disrupt the work of personnel and lifeguards.

Here is a partial list of Rules to be respected in the gym, multifunctional/spinning rooms, palestra, and training space in the stands:

 

• All members must wear sports clothes (sports shoes, shorts, workout pants, t-shirt, etc.). Jeans and open-toed shoes are not permitted.
• Towel use is obligatory.
• When training in the stands, members must respect any spectators present.
• All equipment must be returned to its original place after use.
• Members must wipe down all equipment after use.

Here is a partial list of the Rules to be respected in and around the pools at the Sports Centre:

 

• It is obligatory to wear a swimsuit. Wearing accessories is forbidden without the express authorization of a lifeguard.
• Wearing loose clothing, any clothing made from absorbent material, clothing that’s not adequately fitted (cotton shorts, jeans, Bermuda shorts, dresses, scarves, capes, etc.), and underclothing is not permitted.
• All swimwear (bathing suit, bathing cap, goggles) worn by users must be decent and adapted to the sport being practiced, and must not feature a symbol(s) contrary to public order or democratic values.
• Adapted swimwear can be used by anyone who, for personal reasons, does not wish to expose a part(s) of their body. Dance tights, gymnastics shorts, fitted bodywear, a fitted hood covering the head and neck but leaving the face and ears exposed, a fitted shirt or pants, or divingwear are all acceptable swimwear. Any other type of swimwear must be authorized by lifeguards.
• Although lifeguards are always on site, children seven (7) or under must be accompanied and monitored at all times by a responsible person sixteen (16) or over. The permitted ratio is one (1) responsible person per one (1) child from 0 to 3 years old, or one (1) responsible per three (3) children from 3 to 7 years old. The person responsible must wear a bathing suit.
• Anyone requiring a floatation device must use a life jacket or personal floatation device (PFD) that carries a tag indicating that the device has been approved by Transport Canada, The Canadian Coast Guard, and/or Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Swim bubbles, inflatable armbands, and floatation swimsuits are forbidden.
• Babies must wear a clean swim diaper at all times.
• Taking a shower before swimming is highly recommended.
• Taking children to the bathroom before swimming is highly recommended.
• It is forbidden to run in the locker room or around the pool area.
• It is forbidden to shove or jostle others in or around the pool.
• It is forbidden to dive in the shallow end.
• It is forbidden to bring inflatable objects into the pool.
• It is forbidden to hyperventilate before swimming. Snorkeling is not allowed.
• It is forbidden to swim if one has a contagious disease, diarrhea, or open sores.
• It is forbidden to spit, urinate, blow one’s nose, or otherwise contaminate the pool water.
• It is forbidden to wear shoes around the pool.

Cigarettes and other tobacco products

In compliance with the Tobacco Control Act (c. L-6.2.) and article 1.41 of the Rules, all Olympic Park establishments are non-smoking. It is therefore forbidden to smoke or vape at the Sports Centre, including in the parking lots that give access to the Sports Centre. Offenders may face a fine of between $250 and $750 for a first offence and $500 to $1,500 for subsequent offences, plus administration fees.
