The sheer pleasure of diving into water
The diving classes at the Sports Centre are a great way to get initiated into this fascinating sport. Adults and kids will learn to conquer their fears—as well as make a grand entrance into the water!
Spring 2020 – Canceled
Due to the current situation, the Olympic Park Sports Centre has decided to cancel the spring 2020 session for all swimming, diving, and lifeguard classes. All participants registered for the fall 2019 and winter 2020 sessions will be able to sign up during the pre-inscription period next fall. The dates for all classes and inscriptions will be posted over the summer.
Children – Teens
For kids aged 6 to 12 who wish to learn the basics of diving in a safe environment. Learn skills on the ground, at the water’s edge and on the 1-metre springboard.
Levels 1-2
10 lessons of 75 minutes each
$95.75 not taxable
Prerequisite
The diver must be 6 years old as of the first day of the course and have completed the Red Cross Swim Junior 4 or demonstrate the skills and knowledge of Junior 4.
In this level
Allows divers to learn diving basics while having fun in a safe environment.
Schedule – Spring 2020
Monday: 5:45 to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:20 to 11:35 a.m. – 12:00 to 1:15 p.m.

Levels 3-4
10 lessons of 75 minutes each

Prerequisite
The diver must be 6 years old as of the first day of the course and have completed Level 2.
In this level
Allows divers to learn diving basics while having fun in a safe environment.

Wednesday: 5:45 to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 to 10:15 a.m.

The monitor reserves the right to reclassify participants as needed. If there is no room available at the participant’s level, inscription fees will be reimbursed. Locker rooms can be accessed 20 minutes before the start of the course, and non-participants do not have access to locker rooms and are not admitted pool side. However, a parent may accompany their child to the locker room before and after the course.
Adult
For adults who wish to learn the basics of diving in a safe environment or who have already learned to dive and wish to again as a recreational sport.
Beginners
10 lessons of 75 minutes each
$125.50 plus taxes
Prerequisite
Diver must be able to swim 10 metres in the deep end without assistance.
In this level
Introduction to diving techniques: hurdle, inward dive in tuck position and backward dive.

Advanced
10 lessons of 75 minutes each
$125.50 plus taxes
Prerequisite
The diver must know how to do the hurdle, inward dive in tuck position and backward dive on the 1- and 3-metre springboards.
