The 11th edition of the Virée classique promises a kaleidoscope of colours, exotic aromas, and mesmerizing melodies… Embark on a journey to the Mediterranean and its music!
From Spain to the Middle East, through Italy and Greece, the OSM will showcase a rich tapestry of musical cultures with around sixty free activities including an opera screening, musical yoga, a fusion of classical and electronic music with the MUTEK festival and scores of family activities.
The Virée classique will open with the traditional free concert at the Olympic Park’s Esplanade. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable musical voyage directed by Rafael Payare and hosted by André Robitaille!
Furthermore, eight ticketed concerts including Verdi’s majestic Requiem or Bizet’s Spain, with the renowned classical guitarist Miloš, will feature stellar artists as part of an innovative and captivating program that promises a host of exciting discoveries.
This summer, music will bring people together like never before, shining the spotlight on many of Montreal’s diverse communities. The not-to-be-missed summer happening, from August 14 to 18!
Journey through the Mediterranean – Olympic Park’s Esplanade
Set off from the Olympic Park’s Esplanade and journey to the Eternal City to hear the festive music of Berlioz’s Roman Carnival before heading on to Egypt, serenaded by Tawadros’s works for oud, before returning to the shade of Respighi’s Pines of Rome. Your tour guide for this unforgettable musical voyage in the company of the OSM and its conductor Rafael Payare will be André Robitaille.

By car
P1 underground parking located at 4545 Pierre-De-Coubertin ave. or P2 located at 4141 Pierre-De-Coubertin ave.
By active transportation
Bike access via bike paths located on Rachel street, Maisonneuve Park and Bennett street. Bike racks are available just steps from the Centre’s entrance. There’s also a Bixi station on Pierre-de- Coubertin avenue, near Pie-IX Metro station.
Public transport
A 5-minute walk from Viau metro station (green line) as well as stops for busses 34, 125 and 439.
Access for people with reduced mobility
The Esplanade is accessible to people with reduced mobility, and adapted sanitary facilities are available at the administration office entrance at 4141 Pierre-De-Coubertin ave. for anyone who uses a wheelchair.
